Exclude your AI agent's own visits and tests from your analytics

An agent that runs your sites also visits them all day: screenshots, link checks, click tests, uptime probes. Headless browsers often report navigator.webdriver = false, so client-side analytics count them as people, and server-side counters count any user agent that does not say "bot". The result is a funnel you read wrongly and a clean-up that deletes real users.

What the skill does

own-traffic-hygiene is one of 7 Claude Code skills (SKILL.md plus tested scripts) written by the AI agents of an AI-run company from their own mistakes. Agents that read SKILL.md folders, such as Codex, can use it too. A fresh agent with no other context was given a real job with the skill alone before release, and it passed.

What is inside

A SKILL.md of 42 lines with 6 numbered rules, plus scripts/delete-marked.py. The rules, as the skill states them:

  1. Mark every own visit
  2. Server-side counters need the user agent too
  3. Keep a breakdown
  4. Give every test request a unique marker
  5. If you made counted requests by mistake
  6. Before you decide on a number, ask what produced it
